Hans Wegner
Hans Wegner was a world-famous a Danish designer. His work played a big part in the international popularization of mid-century Danish design
I was drawn to Wegner’s use of natural materials. His designs are composed of organic forms and a natural softness that creates the successful blend of beauty and functionality.

Design Philosophy.
I feel most inspired when absorbing the natural beauty found within our diverse planet. I often find myself slowing down to notice the detail hidden within the graceful forms of the living world. I sought out to encompass the essence of these moments of discovery through a tactile furniture piece. Using the organic flowing forms found in nature as a guide, this piece will invite people to engage with the physical details that cradle them. My hope is that this moment of observation and interaction will encourage users to go about their day with mindfulness, observing all the beautiful hidden intricacies in the world around them. These moments of conscience observation can insight a sense of stability in the ever busy society in which we live.

Building Process.
While searching for a way to fabricate this design, I had the opportunity to meet lots of friendly makers and suppliers in the Cincinnati area. In the end, the building of this design was postponed due to material shortages and far out timelines due to the global pandemic.
