This is Bree.
She spends nearly all her free time soaking up the sun on her local beach. On crowded days, she is hesitant to leave her belongings behind to enjoy the water. Her current tote bag is often over filled and heavy, making it painful to carry on one shoulder. She tries to remember to bring a spare disposable plastic bag for her wet swimsuit but sometimes forgets and has to deal with everything getting wet and sandy.

Design Goals.
Design a bag for the beach that will enable users to conveniently carry all their items while bringing a sense of security to leave them behind and fully enjoy their time.

Easily Cleaned
Make a quick interaction to effectively shake out the sand or toss it in the washing machine.

Anti-Theft
Protection against thefts to give users peace of mind.

Waterproof
Protect against splashes and rising tides. Keep wet items ventilated and separated from dry items.

Box like shape altered to tote pattern, to be more versatile
Straps convertible and adjustable, can be backpack or over the shoulder tote



In original concept the shoulder straps get thread through front straps and locked together
Bottom unzips to reveal mesh window, used to shake out sand
Adjustable cotton webbing straps for towel
Bottom of bag is waterproof

Drawing inspiration from the world famous beaches of Rio de Janeiro Brazil. A city full of vibrant festivals, sprawling favelas, and mountainous terrain.

Inspired by the rugged stretch of central California's coastline. known for its iconic seaside cliffs, the winding curves of highway one and the misty air.

Cinque Terra
A vibrant string of five old cities clinging to the cliffs of the Italian Riviera Coastline. Filled with colorful buildings, wineries, fisherman and sunbathers.
